Khabib Granted NSAC Hearing Continuance

It appears that UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov has also been granted a continuance in his Nevada State Athletic Commision (NSAC) case. Conor McGregor was granted one last week. Both men’s hearings were initially scheduled for today (Mon. December 10, 2018).

However, MMA Fighting has confirmed that the continuance was granted after “The Eagle’s” legal team and the state were unable to come to an agreement on an adjudication agreement. Commission executive director Bob Bennett revealed that Khabib’s team requested a continuance if no set agreement was made before the Monday hearing.

The next commission meeting will take place on January 29, 2019, and both Khabib and McGregor’s cases are likely to be on the agenda. There’s still a possibility both men could come to a settlement agreement. The disciplinary action stems from what occurred after Khabib and McGregor’s fight at UFC 229.

Khabib submitted McGregor via fourth-round submission. After the fight, Khabib jumped the Octagon and attacked McGregor cornerman Dillon Danis. This sparked a huge post-fight brawl both outside and inside the Octagon. Nobody was arrested for the incident, but the NSAC is handing down punishments. We’ll keep you updated as more information becomes available.

What do you think will be Khabib’s punishment for the post-UFC 229 ordeal?
