A press conference hyping up Bellator’s return to New York City will take place today (April 9).
Bellator is going back to “The World’s Most Famous Arena” Madison Square Garden on June 14. Chael Sonnen and Lyoto Machida will collide in the light heavyweight division. Neiman Gracie is set to take on the winner of the Bellator Welterweight World Grand Prix title bout between champion Rory MacDonald and Jon Fitch. MacDonald vs. Fitch will take place on April 27.
Bellator first took a trip to Madison Square Garden back in June 2017. Sonnen also competed on that card, earning a unanimous decision win over Wanderlei Silva. Gracie was on the card as well, submitting Dave Marfone. Douglas Lima successfully defended the welterweight title when he was the champion. Brent Primus defeated Michael Chandler to become the lightweight title holder, and Matt Mitrione knocked out Fedor Emelianenko.
Dillon Danis revealed to Ariel Helwani that his bout has been moved to the New York City card. Sonnen, Machida, Gracie, Danis, and Heather Hardy will be attending today’s press conference. You can watch the live stream above, which will begin at 12 p.m. ET.
