After failing to make weight on his initial attempt at Thursday's UFC 141: “Lesnar vs. Overeem” weigh-ins, which were held before a live audience at Las Vegas, Nevada's MGM Grand Garden Arena, UFC lightweight contender Nate Diaz finally tipped the scales at the required 156 pound limit for all lightweight contests.
Diaz weighed in at 157 on his first attempt, and even with the towel coming out and Diaz stripping down, he failed to make the required 155 (with one pound allowance) limit. A second attempt wasn't any more successful for the infamous Stockton-bread warrior. It was three times is the charm for Diaz, as after the audience cleared out, Diaz managed to finally weigh in at 156 pounds.
So there you have it. The Diaz vs. Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone co-main event for Friday's big UFC event is now official.
