Alexa Grasso feels pressure each time she competes inside the cage or Octagon.
As a Mexican-born fighter, the UFC strawweight wants to showcase her skills for the world. Grasso will get that chance this Saturday night when she meets Felice Herrig in the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 104.
“It’s important to show that we can be in the international leagues,” she said during an interview on UFC Tonight. “I want to be in the top 10 this year and show I’m one of the best in the world.”
Grasso (9-0) owns four knockout wins to her credit and scored a decision victory this past November over Heather Jo Clark in her UFC debut. At just 23 years old, she remains one of the youngest fighters on the active roster.
Along with her convincing win over Clark, Grasso’s also bested the likes of Jodie Esquibel, Mizui Inoue and Alida Gray.
“I need to be more aggressive,” Grasso said. “I hope fans will see how hard I’m working. You can expect a very interesting fight.”
