On this week's show, host Luis Cruz started off the show with temporary co-host Matt Boone (filling in for regular co-host Seth Petruzelli of Ultimate Fighter 2) talking about what is scheduled for this show.
From there it was time for this week's first guest, none other than Gary Shaw – head of Gary Shaw Productions. Promoter of last year's boxing “fight of the year” with his fighter Diego Corrales, Shaw joined the show to discuss his latest work venture – the Showtime/Rumble on the Rock MMA deal. At this point, most only know the basics of the deal. Anyone who wants to hear the specifics from one of the biggest pieces of that puzzle, listen to this week's show!
From there, it was time to welcome Lightweight fighting sensation Nam Phan. Phan, who will challenge former unviversally ranked top 155 pound fighter Josh Thomson at the next Strikeforce show in December, discussed with the hosts all of the in's and out's of his upcoming fight with “The Punk”. Phan gave the fella's an interview that extended well beyond the newsworthy portions pertaining his fight with Thomson, and definitely an entertaining listen.
