Augusto Mendes recently spoke to MMAFighting.com and he revealed he’s gotten paid more for jiu-jitsu match-ups than bouts under the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) banner:
“More than twice, to be honest. And I even won two bonuses, fastest submission and best fight (vs. Miyao). I made more than twice in jiu-jitsu.”
He went on to say that despite the pay difference, he wants to return to the Octagon in March.
“I really want to be on this card because it’s my birthday and it’s in Las Vegas, so it’s close to where I live and my family and friends can go there and hang out with me. I think it will be a special night for me. I really want to be on this card.”
