Quote: Deontay Wilder Did The Same Thing Over & Over Against Tyson Fury

One notable boxing pundit claims that WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder did the same thing over and over against Tyson Fury.

Deontay Wilder and Tyson Fury’s WBC heavyweight title fight last year is one of the best fights boxing has seen in recent memory. Unfortunately, rematch negotiations fell through and both men will be facing different opponents in their next outings.

Wilder’s next opponent, Dominic Breazeale, got to witness the bout from ringside. One thing Breazeale took away from the contest: Wilder does much of the same in all of his fights. Throw the 1-2, and hope the big right hand connects to shut your opponent’s lights out.

While that recipe seems to be working for the undefeated “Bronze Bomber” so far, Breazeale doesn’t see reason to believe his mission is un-winnable this weekend (via Boxing Scene):

“It gave me some better things to focus in on,” Breazeale said. “At the same time, I think, you know, just [for] my peace of mind, I was there in person – I thought Fury won that fight. I know he got knocked down a couple times, but as far as the boxing world looked at it and the way you score a boxing match, Tyson Fury out-boxed Wilder that night and won that fight.

“But Fury did some good things. He used some good head movement and some great defensive tactics, as well as counter-punching. And on the other hand, Wilder did the same thing over and over, like he’s done in his last four, five fights, for his last four or five years.

“It’s throw the one-two and hope and pray that right hand lands eventually. You know, there was some things I learned from the fight, as well as some things that I’ve continuously seen over and over, time and time again.”

What do you think about Breazeale’s comments on Wilder’s performance against Fury?
