Conor McGregor Believes UFC 202 Will Outperform UFC 200

Of course, Conor McGregor believes his upcoming UFC 202 main event fight with Nate Diaz will be a bigger deal than UFC 200 this weekend.

The reigning UFC featherweight champion and his opponent held a press conference earlier this week as ticket sales begin for their August contest in Las Vegas.

When asked about the prospects of pay-per-view buys and other numbers regarding UFC 200, “Notorious” was quick to point out the success of his recent PPV, UFC 196, along with the upcoming UFC 202 card.

“I feel this will do well, even though (Jon) Jones and (Daniel) Cormier is off; the last contest did 750,000 buys. It was a five-rounder; it wasn’t the best contest. I felt it was OK. I don’t feel that was the attraction. I think bringing Brock (Lesnar) back is the attraction to the card. So I think it will do OK numbers, but it still won’t take UFC 196 off the top spot, and it certainly won’t take UFC 202 off the top spot – no way.”

UFC 202 takes place August 20 from the T-Mobile Arena, the same site of Saturday’s event.
