For now, Dan Hardy and Diego Sanchez will remain far apart from one another via social media, but it’s possible that the two long-time UFC veterans could eventually square off inside the Octagon.
Hardy and Sanchez have been trading barbs on Twitter in recent days.
“The Outlaw” was forced to step away from fighting after being diagnosed with a rare heart disease. His last fight came in 2012 when he defeated Amir Sadollah. He has been working to get cleared once again and compete inside the Octagon.
Just to put the career of Hardy (25-10) into come context, he actually fought light heavyweight contender Anthony Johnson to a decision defeat and went the full 25 minutes with then-UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre.
He’s also bested the likes of world-class head coach Duane Ludwig, Marcus Davis and Mike Swick, along with facing Carlos Condit.
Sanchez picked up a victory earlier this month over Jim Miller, as the former Ultimate Fighter winner improved to 26-8 overall.
The 34-year-old Sanchez has won seven “Fight of the Night” honors an d is tied for fifth in UFC history with 14 career wins.
