UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier will be a very interested observer Saturday night during the UFC 202 co-main event.
While nothing has been set in stone, it is very likely that the winner of Anthony Johnson-Glover Teixeira from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas will get the next shot at Cormier and his belt.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if Glover did it, but I think Anthony is going to take it,” Cormier said during UFC Tonight earlier this week. “I believe the power early is going to be a problem.”
If “Rumble” is successful and if he is given the next title shot, it would be a rematch of a 2015 battle won by Cormier. That night, “DC” claimed the vacant belt with a submission win after UFC officials stripped Jon Jones of the title for his outside-the-Octagon issues.
