The main event of Bellator 159 will feature Darrion Caldwell and Joe Taimanglo meeting in a bantamweight title-eliminator, according to a report by Bleacher Report.
Set for July 22 from the Kansas Star Arena in Mulvane, Kansas, the Spike TV co-main event will include Melvin Guillard vs. Dave Rickels.
The winner of the Caldwell (9-0) and Taimanglo (22-6-1) contest will advance to face the winner of Eduardo Dantas-Marco Galvao, who meet June 17 at Bellator 156 for Galvao’s belt.
Caldwell, a former NCAA Div. I wrestling national champion, is coming off a submission win over former Bellator two-division champion Joe Warren.
Taimanglo is 5-2 since signing with Bellator, including three straight wins. Highlighting his run is a victory over Sirwan Kakai in March.
