A welterweight title bout between Douglas Lima and Rory MacDonald has been booked.
On Jan. 20, Lima will put his 170-pound gold on the line against MacDonald. They’ll do battle inside The Forum in Inglewood, CA. The Los Angeles Times broke the news earlier today (Sept. 20).
MacDonald released the following statement:
“When I signed with Bellator, I made it clear I wanted to take over — multiple weight classes and multiple championships. Douglas Lima and his title are first on the list before I move onto the next.”
Lima delivered a statement of his own.
“I haven’t been this healthy in a long time and Rory is going to be just another win on my record.”
