Eddie Alvarez understands that sometimes you are not going to get your hand raised when competing inside the Octagon.
What bothers the former UFC lightweight champion a few days after losing to Conor McGregor at UFC 205 is how he let it all happen.
Alvarez was finished in the second round in the main event from Madison Square Garden.
“Congrats to (McGregor) and his camp,” Alvarez posted on social media. “These guys continue to deliver, hats off to you fellas.
“As for my performance, the only thing I can honestly say was I (expletive) blew it. I did nothing I trained, I did the complete opposite of what we planned on a daily basis for 10 weeks.”
Alvarez, also a former Bellator champion, admitted that his style used in the fight was “a for sure death sentence and the result was fitting.”
