Former Bellator champion Joe Warren tested positive for marijuana following his win over L.C. Davis at Bellator 143 in Hidalgo, Texas. Texas Combative Sports Program director Greg Alvarez told MMA Fighting on Friday night that Warren will be suspended 90 days.
This is the 3rd time Warren has tested positive for marijuana in his athletic career. His 2nd positive test resulted in a 2-year suspension that made him ineligible to compete in the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. Warren claimed in 2013 that he had a medical marijuana license in two states.
“According to the documents that I received, Warren’s marijuana level was 53 ng/ml and the legal limit in the state of Texas is 50 ng/ml,” wrote Jason Floyd of The MMA Report.
