Freire injured! Title Fight against Angerer cancelled!
Today the Promoter of the SHI KON Fight Night Mr. Andreas Beckert has been informed by the Fight World Team (Zurich/Switzerland), that Willamy “Chiquerim” Freire got injured during a trainings session yesterday. He was knocked unconsiouness and suffered a deep cut during sparring with one of his team mates. Freire, who was selected for a Title Fight in the Welterweight Division in SHIDO MMA against the reigning Champion Peter “Yamatodamashii” Angerer of the German Top Team, will not be able to fight on the SHI KON Fight Night 3 next Saturday, on May 5th 2007 in the Deutenberghalle. Due to the fact, that his medical withdrawel came so short befor the fight, a replacement could not be found and the fight was officially canceled. The Champion Angerer was upset about this situation: “I trained eight weeks very hard for the fight, as I know, that Willamy is a top notch opponent. I really looked forward to this fight and I hope, that we will do the match in the near future. I wish Willamy a speedy recovery and hope that he soon will be in shape again to take the fight against me!”
