Gegard Mousasi Feels UFC Are ‘F*cking up’ His Chances at Middleweight Gold

Gegard Mousasi hasn’t been thrilled with the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) as of late.

“The Dreamcatcher” will fight out his contract this Saturday night (April 8) inside the KeyBank Center in Buffalo, NY. He and former UFC middleweight champion Chris Weidman will battle as part of the UFC 210 main card. A win for Mousasi could make him the most highly sought after free agent down the road.

Lately, Mousasi has expressed discontent with the world leader in mixed martial arts (MMA). The former Strikeforce light heavyweight title holder isn’t pleased with the fact that Mark Hunt made $800,000 for his last bout despite having a record of 12-11-1, 1 NC.

The criticisms don’t stop there as Mousasi laced into the UFC’s decision to allow Michael Bisping to defend his 185-pound gold against Dan Henderson and Georges St-Pierre despite being nowhere near the top of the rankings. “The Dreamcatcher” told Flo Combat that decisions such as those are a big issue with him:

“If they hadn’t made the Dan Henderson and GSP fights then both Yoel Romero and Jacare would have fought for the title already and I would have been next right after this fight. Instead they make these silly fights. I have to win this next fight, and I truly believe I will, but now I have to go put everything on the line again to maybe get a title shot. They’re fu*king up my chances, and that’s a problem. Michael Bisping hasn’t fought in six months and there is yet to be a date set for his next one. They are holding up the entire division. GSP could have easily come back and fought Anderson Silva or even Conor McGregor. They could have easily given him someone who wasn’t champion. For me, I don’t think it’s that attractive as a fight. I’d rather see me versus Chris Weidman to be honest.”
