GLORY Kickboxing Done With Spike TV For The Time Being

After mixed success in terms of viewership, GLORY is done airing its kickboxing cards on Spike TV for now according to Luke Thomas at MMAFighting. This should come as no surprise, as the promotion for the next card during the last one never said it would be on Spike. Word had been going around for a while that the October 9th card in Denver was the last one on their contract. When asked on Twitter, Thomas said there’s no word yet if GLORY will continue to air in some form on CBS Sports Network, which aired prelim fights on tape delay and aired main cards before the Spike deal.

The October 9th card averaged just 283,000 viewers with little promotion in a lame duck Friday at 11:00 p.m. ET time slot. Like Spike’s other live sports programming, GLORY was always tape delayed on the west coast, which the media and hardcore fans have been complaining about for years. They had previously done solid viewers given the relative lack of promotion they got, and built up a decent word of mouth following before stalling. The beginning of the end was likely last year’s GLORY: Last Man Standing pay-per-view card, which only did a few thousand buys.
