Heath Herring Expected To Fight Junoir Dos Santos At UFC 97

Earlier today it was announced by Gabe Morrency during a broadcast of his show “Sports Rage”,on Hardcore Sports Radio (Sirius 98) that a heavyweight match up between “The Texas Krazy Horse” Heath Herring and Brazilian Junoir dos Santos is in the works for UFC 97 which is tentatively scheduled to take place in Montreal, Canada in April.

Although the bout has not been officially signed, both fighters have been offered the fight and Morrency's source says they have both agreed to the bout.

In Herring's last bout at UFC 87 in August, he was steamrolled by Brock Lesnar on Lesnar's path to the heavyweight title.

dos Santos on the other hand debuted in late 2008 with a stunning KO finish of highly touted contender Fabricio Werdum. It was be Werdum's exit bout from the UFC.

With a win in the bout dos Santos could push himself further up the ladder in the UFC's mixed up heavyweight division while Herring is looking to get back on the horse so to speak after looking less than impressive since debuting in the UFC.
