Macy Chiasson will be hoping for a big contender matchup in her next fight, finding herself one step closer to a potential bantamweight title shot after defeating Mayra Bueno Silva at UFC 303.
Both women brought their striking out in the first round, with Chiasson landing more in terms of quantity, while Bueno Silva looked to do damage and land the powerful strike that could end the fight.
Chiasson controlled the grappling portion of the battle, and it was on the ground where the strike that brought the fight to an end happened.
Chiasson landed a nasty elbow that split open Bueno Silva’s head. Referee Chris Tognoni called for a timeout during the second round to have the cut be looked at.
Ultimately, the cut was deemed too deep to allow Bueno Silva to continue, giving Chiasson a TKO win.

Chiasson has now won back-to-back bouts since returning from a near year-and-a-half-long layoff. Chiasson submitted Pannie Kianzad in March.
Bueno Silva is now winless in her last three fights. A win against Holly Holm last year was overturned to a No Contest, and she lost a disappointing bantamweight title fight with Raquel Pennington at UFC 297.
