While Livia Renata Souza was campaigning for an opportunity to fight at UFC 197, she will instead be defending her Invicta FC Strawweight Championship against a UFC veteran instead.
Souza will defend her Invicta FC title against former Ultimate Fighter veteran and UFC Women’s Strawweight prospect Angela Hill at the Invicta FC 17 event in May.
Souza (9-0) last fought in January, knocking out DeAnna Bennett in just 90 seconds in a bout where she was defending her 115-pound Invicta FC title.
Hill, who went 1-2 in the UFC, finished both Alida Gray and Stephanie Eggink since joining the Invicta FC ranks.
In addition to the Souza-Hill title fight, Mizuki Inoue (11-4) will meet Aline Serio (9-5) in a women’s strawweight bout, Latoya Walker (5-0) vs. Charmaine Tweet (8-5) in a women’s featherweight fight and Amanda Bell (3-3) vs. Megan Anderson (5-2) in a women’s featherweight fight.
The Souza-Hill title fight will serve as the evening’s co-main event, as Tonya Evinger and Colleen Schneider meet in the show’s main event for the Invicta FC Bantamweight Championship.
