James Toney Down 45lbs., Taking MMA More Seriously

By Chris Howie

James “Lights Out” Toney may have talked his way into a UFC main event only to get steamrolled by Randy Couture but that doesn't mean the former boxing champ isn't finished with Mixed Martial Arts just yet.

Toney has a bout scheduled against Ken Shamrock this Fall and after a talk from his wife and father, Toney has gotten himself in much better shape than when we last saw him in action and has a new outlook on MMA.

“You haven't seen anything yet. I may even fight at cruiserweight.” Toney told 8countnews.com, “My wife and pops sat down with me and they told me to take my career serious.”

Seeing is believing according to the site as Toney is now weighing in at 213lbs. and is training like a machine is the gym.

The question is, how will he fair when or if he does happen to end up back in the cage.
