Jon Jones vs. Daniel Cormier Will Headline UFC 200

After what has been a long journey, UFC has finally filled the void that is the UFC 200 main event.

Interim UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones appeared on “Good Morning America” on Wednesday morning to officially announce that he will be fighting Daniel Cormier in a long-awaited rematch for the undisputed UFC 205-pound title.

Jones won the Interim 205-pound title by defeating Ovince Saint Preux at UFC 197 this past Saturday night and on July 9, 2016, at the brand new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, Jones and Cormier will meet inside the Octagon once again to unify the UFC 205-pound titles.

Originally, UFC Featherweight Champion Conor McGregor was scheduled to fight Nate Diaz in an immediate 170-pound rematch of their first fight, which Diaz won via submission back in March. However, when McGregor refused to take part in a promotional tour that UFC had planned to advertise what is expected to be their biggest event of all-time, UFC made the call to pull him from the card.

As far as Diaz’s status is concerned, he is still listed on the official UFC website against “TBA,” however he stated himself during the recent UFC International Fight Week launch event that if UFC doesn’t put together the rematch with McGregor for UFC 200, he is not interested in fighting anyone else on the card.

Also scheduled for UFC 200 is the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Championship bout between Miesha Tate and Amanda Nunes, as well as the Interim UFC Featherweight Title fight between Jose Aldo and Frankie Edgar. Below is the current lineup for UFC 200:

Jon Jones vs. Daniel Cormier (Undisputed Light Heavyweight Title)
Nate Diaz vs. TBA
Jose Aldo vs. Frankie Edgar (Interim Featherweight Title)
Miesha Tate vs. Amanda Nunes (Women’s Bantamweight Title)
Cain Velasquez vs. Travis Browne
Johny Hendricks vs. Kelvin Gastelum
Gegard Mousasi vs. Derek Brunson
Diego Sanchez vs. Joe Lauzon
Sage Northcutt vs. Enrique Marin
Jim Miller vs. Takanori Gomi
Cat Zingano vs. Julianna Pena
