Joseph Duffy was last in action in July, submitting Mitch Clarke in just 25 seconds at UFC Fight Night 90.
However, we have yet to see the 28-year-old since, and he doesn’t have a bout set for the early stages of 2017.
So where is Duffy at with the UFC? He explained during a recent appearance on The MMA Hour.
“I’m happy in the UFC,” Duffy said. “I feel I’m treated fairly, and I’ve enjoyed working with them, [but] the offer they made me, there’s no way I would accept that. Even if I lost my last fight I wouldn’t accept that. I don’t feel I’m a greedy person, but I know to secure my future, and I’m putting my body on the line and my health on the line.
“One shot and it could all be over, so I need to get to the point where I can start moving forward and my future isn’t a worry.”
Duffy is expected to get a fight in 2017 and be allowed to test free agency after. He is 15-2 overall in his career and 3-1 with the UFC. In 2010, he submitted Conor McGregor and Norman Parke inside of the first round.
