King Mo Vs. Newton 2 Added To Bellator PPV

Newport Beach, CA. (August 15th, 2013) – Chandler vs. Alvarez II won’t be the only highly anticipated rematch featured on Bellator’s Pay-Per-View debut November 2nd, as King Mo will once again meet Emanuel Newton, this time for the interim Bellator Light Heavyweight Title. With reigning Light Heavyweight Champion Attila Vegh sidelined with a shoulder injury, Mo and Newton will now square off for a shot at the title. In their previous meeting, the two engaged in a back and forth battle that eventually ended with Newton delivering a devastating spinning back fist that earned the fight the distinction of upset of the year. Mo vs. Newton II now joins a night of fights that already features Chandler vs. Alvarez II, along with the main event of the evening, Rampage vs. Tito.

“Rampage vs. Tito” will be held at Southern California’s Long Beach Arena on Saturday, November 2nd, with tickets on sale now. Tickets can be purchased on Bellator.com, Ticketmaster.com, as well as at the Long Beach Arena Box Office.

“The energy in the arena when Newton dropped Mo with that spinning back fist was simply awesome,” Bellator Chairman & CEO Bjorn Rebney said. “And, to be able to have this rematch take place on our first PPV is something we couldn’t pass up. With Mo and Emanuel winning our previous two Light Heavyweight Tournaments, the timing was perfect for this rematch add another incredible intriguing storyline to this huge night of fights.”

After storming through the Summer Series Tournament with two stoppage victories over Seth Petruzelli and Jacob Noe, Mo has now earned the right to fight for the title, along with erasing a loss that still looms large for the man they call “King”.

“Listen, I’m going to be real honest about this. Emanuel is fake as hell,” Lawal said. “He runs his mouth about being a black skinhead or something, and likes to act real hard. He’s as hard as baby shit. I’m going to destroy this guy. He landed a shot on me in our first fight, nothing more than that. I’m better than him in every facet of the game. I didn’t even shoot on him that first fight. I can take this fight anywhere I want it, and I will. It’s over. I’m taking that belt in Long Beach, bringing it back to Las Vegas, and no one is getting it back. Not Vegh, Not Rampage. Not Tito, not anyone. It’s mine. Payback is bitch, Emanuel.”

A relative unknown when he joined the Bellator Light Heavyweight ranks, Newton shocked the world with his knockout victory over Mo in the Season 8 Light Heavyweight Semifinals, and followed up that performance with a decisive win over fellow Bellator Tournament Finalist Mikhail Zayats. Now just a win away from capturing the interim World Title, Newton expects similar results in his second meeting with Lawal.

“I’m not going to spout off and trash Mo, I don’t have to do that,” Newton proclaimed. “I know Mo is going to run his mouth and try to sell his game, but I don’t have anything to prove. I’m the one that knocked him out, and he’s the one that has to deal with that loss on his record, not me. I did it once, and I’m going to do it again, this time on an even bigger stage. History likes to repeat itself, and November 2nd Mo’s going to have to deal with another big loss on his record.

More information on Bellator’s November 2nd PPV “Rampage vs. Tito” will be made available in the coming weeks.
