While most of the MMA talk centers around UFC featherweight champion Conor McGregor, two contenders in the division have agreed to meet.
Max Holloway and Ricardo Lamas will square off this June at UFC 199. The bout was announced during “UFC Tonight” Wednesday.
Holloway (15-3) has won 11 of 14 bouts with the promotion, including a division-best eight in a row. His last loss came to McGregor, where he pushed him to the distance in 2013.
Lamas (16-4) earned a decision win over Diego Sanchez recently, improving his UFC mark to 7-2. He fought Jose Aldo for the title at UFC 169, suffering a decision loss.
UFC 199 takes place from The Forum with Luke Rockhold defending his belt against Chris Weidman in the main event, along with a title fight pitting Dominick Cruz vs. Urijah Faber.
