Michael Bisping Not Thinking About Retirement Ahead Of UFC 199

For Michael Bisping, Saturday night’s UFC 199 title fight with Luke Rockhold has been a long journey.

And now that “The Count” is so close to the top, he isn’t pondering retirement.

When asked about his current contract situation on “UFC Tonight” recently, Bisping responded by saying “I’ve got four more fights on my contract. When I win this fight, that’s when the real payday starts. I’m not going to bow out when I really start to make money.”

His fight with Rockhold will be a rematch of a 2014 bout won by the current champion via second round submission.

“I’ve never fought for a title. I know I’m not the best athlete in the world. But my heart and my will get me through fights,” he said. “I want to see the belt. I want to know what’s available to me. All I’ve got to do is go out there and fight my ass off on Saturday night like I’ve never done before and it’s mine. And I’m going to do it.”

Bisping has been on the verge of fighting for the belt before, but was never successful. He replaced Chris Weidman in this title fight that is set for The Forum in Los Angeles.
