Michael Bisping wanted a fight with Georges St-Pierre at UFC 206.
Then, the reigning UFC middleweight champion called out Nick Diaz.
Many believed “The Count” was trying to avoid facing a top contender, but Bisping clarified all that during “UFC Tonight” Wednesday.
Bisping, who bested Dan Henderson last month, made it perfectly clear that he is willing to meet either Yoel Romero, Chris Weidman or Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza in 2017.
“Next week, Yoel and Weidman are fighting, so after that fight, either one of them, or Jacare, will be my next opponent,” he said. “I’ve never ducked anyone. ”
Bisping captured the title last June with a first round knockout of Luke Rockhold. The former champion was scheduled to return later this month vs. Souza, but an injury scrapped that contest. Romero and Weidman meet next weekend at UFC 205 in a featured bout.
Since a 2014 loss to Rockhold via second round submission, Bisping is a perfect 5-0, including a win over Anderson Silva. He is 30-7 overall in his MMA career.
