Nick Diaz Tests Positive For Marijuana, Dana White Releases Statement

UFC president Dana White recently released a very brief, and to-the-point statement regarding UFC welterweight Nick Diaz's failed drug test for his UFC 143 fight against Carlos Condit this past Saturday night.

For those who missed it, Diaz tested positive for marijuana, a story which was confirmed by the Nevada State Athletic Commission late Thursday evening.

White's statement is as follows:

“I am beyond disappointed that he [Nick Diaz] tested positive for marijuana. It is now in the hands of the Nevada State Athletic Commission.”

Diaz has tested positive for marijuana in the past, and with this second offense, generally the suspension time for the offense is one year. While that is not necessarily how long Diaz will be sidelined due to the test failure, it is the most likely outcome.
