In addition to the events produced by North American-based MMA promotions Bellator and the UFC this weekend, Asia’s largest MMA promotion also held a big show that featured a newsworthy finish in a main event that featured a longtime Japanese MMA star getting knocked out and losing his World Title in the process.
At the Singapore Indoor Stadium in Kallang, Singapore this weekend, the ONE Championship 49: Defending Honor took place, which featured Lightweight Champion Shinya Aoki getting knocked out by Filipino MMA star Eduard Folayang in the third round. With the win, Folayang is now the new ONE Lightweight Champion.
