A name from MMA’s past — “The New York Bad Ass” Phil Baroni — has created some buzz via social media today after teasing a possible fight against Wanderlei Silva in Japan.
Baroni posted on Twitter that he was offered a fight against MMA legend Wanderlei Silva in Japan on New Year’s Eve.
While at first glance the idea of a Baroni-Silva match seems far-fetched, “The Axe Murderer” did recently hint that he would be announcing “amazing news” and teased a return to fighting.
Silva wrote the following:
“The best of all time! Soon enough the great promotions will be back to bring back the glamour and the respect to the sport. I’ll come back with amazing news, you will love it. The monopoly is coming to an end.”
