Pyle signs 3-fight deal with Showtime; O’Brien, Kampmann receive UFC extensions
MMAagents.com, in conjunction with Pavia , Ciscone & Associates, LLC, is pleased to announce the signing of UFC veteran Sean Salmon. Salmon, of Columbus , Ohio , is scheduled to face Eric “Red” Schafer at UFC 71 on May 26th, 2007 at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas , NV .
A former starter on the Ohio State wrestling team at 167 pounds, Salmon has compiled a 9-2 pro record. Coming off a knockout loss in his UFC debut to light-heavyweight contender Rashad Evans at Ultimate Fight Night 8 this past January, Salmon is now moving down to 185 pounds where he will compete in the middleweight division.
“The loss (to Evans) did not deter me at all,” says the 29-year-old Salmon. “I’m dropping a weight class and I will now be fighting at a more natural weight for me. I am looking forward to climbing my way up the ladder and eventually becoming the UFC middleweight champion of the world.”
