When you win eight consecutive fights, there is plenty of reason to be confident in your abilities.
Rafael dos Anjos, though, believes Tony Ferguson has displayed too much of that heading into their lightweight main event Saturday night at UFC Fight Night 98.
“He’s too overconfident. You can see the way he talks,” dos Anjos said. “He’s got eight wins straight, but he’s never faced anyone like me. I’m in the best shape of my life. It’s been a tough year for me, but I’m going to end this year with a victory.”
Earlier this year, dos Anjos saw his five-fight win streak come to a halt at the hands of Eddie Alvarez, costing him the UFC title in the process. The Brazilian had successfully defended the belt vs. Donald Cerrone to close out 2015 after winning it from Anthony Pettis.
RDA also made a camp change ahead of this contest, leaving Kings MMA with the hopes of beginning his own team soon.
“I left Kings, but still have some good friends who are there,” he said. “I’m no longer part of the team. I still have the same team of guys training with me. I’m happy and ready to get another win. I’m looking forward to starting my own team in the future.”
