The finals of the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix final will come to a long awaited conclusion on May 19th, 2012 as was announced this past weekend on Showtime during the Rousey Vs. Tate broadcast.
Josh Barnett vs. Daniel Cormier will happen at a yet to be determined location after the match had been put the shelf due to a hand injury suffered by Cormier.
The bout will likely be the last heavyweight fight under the Strikeforce banner as most of the promotions heavyweights now fight under the UFC banner and Strikeforce is focused on the lighter weight classes.
The Grand Prix began last April featuring eight of the world's best heavyweight fighters. The semi finals took place in September with the GP Final now set to take place over one year after the tournament first started.
