Tai Tuivasa doesn’t exactly agree with Greg Hardy’s self-assessment.
This Saturday night (July 10), Tuivasa and Hardy will mix it up inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The heavyweight collision will be featured on the main card of UFC 264. It is the biggest fight card Tuivasa and Hardy will have been a part of.
Hardy has long discussed a transition to the world of boxing. In fact, he expressed his belief that he can KO the likes of Tyson Fury, Anthony Joshua, and Deontay Wilder.
Speaking to media members, Tuivasa was taken aback by Hardy’s comments.
“He said that? F*ck me dead. What’s he watching?”
Tuivasa then promised to bite down on his mouthpiece and engage with Hardy in the standup.
“I’m coming forward. I’m coming forward, so more pressure. Everyone’s seen me fight before. I can punch on for 15 minutes. This time, I’m ready to punch him for 25 minutes. And now, he’s talking about not going to the ground? Well, f*ck, let’s do it. Let’s do it.”
While Hardy has a tough task in front of him in Tuivasa, he’s been taking aim at Derrick Lewis. “The Black Beast” has ripped Hardy for his past. “The Prince of War” recently said he’s going after Lewis in due time.
Tuivasa has turned things around since making the move to American Kickboxing Academy. He was coming off a three-fight skid but has won his last two bouts. Due to the pandemic, Tuivasa hasn’t been able to train at AKA and instead has been training in his hometown for the Hardy fight.
Hardy is hoping to avoid a second straight loss. He’s coming off a TKO defeat at the hands of Marcin Tybura.
