Tatiana Suarez entered into The Ultimate Fighter 23 with her sights set on winning the title and earning a contract with the UFC.
Thanks to her dominating performance over Amanda Cooper Friday night at The Ultimate Fighter 23 Finale, that is exactly what Suarez did.
The 25-year-old Suarez improved to 4-0 with the first round submission win. It marked her third straight stoppage win overall.
“This is what I said I was going to do,” said Suarez, during a post-fight interview on FOX Sports 1. “It was great having all my supporters here. I’m just happy to have these people behind me.”
A cancer survivor, Suarez was forced to dig deep seconds into the contest when Cooper locked up an armbar.
“My arm was extended,” she said, “but it wasn’t hurting. I’d let my arm break before I gave in.
“She was going to have to kill me before I’d give in.”
