Vera-Mir Signed for UFC 65; Irvin Returns against Ramirez

Even though UFC 65: Bad Intentions features a heavyweight championship bout between Tim Sylvia and Jeff Monson, the next challenger for the crown may be found on the November 18th undercard, when rising star Brandon Vera faces his stiffest test in former UFC heavyweight champion Frank Mir.
This bout, part of an exciting nine bout card headlined by Sylvia-Monson and the UFC welterweight championship rematch between Matt Hughes and Georges St. Pierre, will air live on pay-per-view from the Arco Arena in Sacramento, California. To purchase tickets, click here.
An exciting up and comer known as `The Truth’, unbeaten Brandon Vera burst on the UFC scene in October of 2005 with a TKO win over Fabiano Scherner and has since looked spectacular in knocking out Justin Eilers and submitting Assuerio Silva. But in Frank Mir, Vera will be facing a submission master who owns a first round submission win over current UFC champ Tim Sylvia and who is on the comeback trail after a serious motorcycle accident in 2004 forced him to relinquish his crown. In his last bout, at UFC 61 in July, Mir scored a hard fought unanimous decision win over Dan Christison.
Also added to the UFC 65 undercard is a light heavyweight match between returning James Irvin and California newcomer Hector Ramirez.
