Damien Brown, a 23-fight veteran of the sport, will step in on short notice and meet Alan Patrick this weekend at UFC Fight Night 85.
Brown, a native of Australia, will meet Patrick from Brisbane as part of the FOX Sports 1 prelims. Brown (15-8) is replacing Chad Laprise, who moved into a bout with Ross Pearson after Abel Trujillo was forced out.
The 31-year-old Australian Army veteran has won his last five fights overall, including four via finish. Patrick (12-1) suffered his first pro loss inside the Octagon after winning his first two fights with the UFC.
The event features a headline act between Mark Hunt and Frank Mir, along with Neil Magny battling Hector Lombard.
