Raquel Pennington recently spoke with MMAJunkie about the revenge tour she’s planning on those who she’s lost to in the past.
“I want to fight everyone I did lose to,” Pennington told MMAJunkie. “There’s Leslie Smith, there’s Cat Zingano or a rematch against Holly. With that being said, I also will take any fight against any girl in the top-10. I’m working my way up the ladder, and so are the other girls. My main focus is, yeah, I have a 6-5 record, and I’ve fought the top women in the world, but I don’t want a 6-5 record. I want to go out there and clean it up and prove I’m the better fighter than the people I’ve lost to.”
Pennington believes a string of victories will help her secure a title shot.
“Every fight is a stepping-stone; my ultimate goal at the end of the day is to become a world champion. I’m doing this revenge tour thing where I want to go back. I believe I’m a better fighter than the girls I have lost to. I fought a ton of opponents in the top-10 in the world, and I’ve never taken an easy fight. To go back and avenge one loss (against Andrade), especially with the statement I made, I said I’m never going to let a fight go to the judges again, and that’s my ultimate goal and that’s what I did.”
There’s no word on when her next fight will be taking place.
