UFC 194 was just days ago, but betting odds have already hit the web for a rematch between Conor McGregor and Jose Aldo. McGregor defeated Aldo in 13 seconds by knockout (video) at UFC 194.

Bovada.lv posted opening lines for the fight this week, and have the champion McGregor as a -160 favorite, while Aldo is a +130 underdog. A $100 wager on McGregor would return a profit of $62.50, while a $100 bet on Aldo would return $130 in profit.

The rematch is far from set in stone right now for various reasons. One is that McGregor is planning to jump up in weight to the lightweight division before he comes back down in weight to defend his featherweight title. McGregor will not vacate the featherweight title when he moves up in weight, and plans to hold both that title and the lightweight title.

Another reason is there are other fighters in line for the featherweight title, including Frankie Edgar. Joe Rogan recently commented on McGregor’s potential next opponents on his podcast:

“Some people are mad that I said I don’t think it’s smart that Aldo fight right away,” Rogan said. “First of all, Aldo got knocked dead. When you get knocked dead like that you need a long time off. You need at least six months off. Conor McGregor could fight next Tuesday and so could Frankie Edgar.”

Aldo wants an immediate rematch, and other fighters including Jon Jones have backed him up. Jones vented on Twitter about the situation, saying a longer fight between the two would “simply be epic.”

“If Rousey is granted an immediate rematch I would expect the same treatment for Aldo,” Jones wrote on Twitter. “It only seems right.”

McGregor seemed to think an immediate rematch isn’t a good idea, and said at the post-fight press conference Aldo should fight his way back to being a #1 contender. Aldo was bumped down to the #6 position on the pound-for-pound rankings by his UFC 194 loss.

“That’s on him. That’s up to him what way he goes about his next step. I feel he could take a step back, re-center himself,” McGregor said. “It’s not the same when you sign to fight me. It’s a completely different pressure. He felt the pressure like he’d never felt before; that’s because he was facing me… I think Jose should go back, regroup, get back in line for a No. 1 contender spot and go from there.”
