After calling out Nick Lentz earlier this month, BJ Penn is officially coming out of retirement at age 37. Penn is training for his comeback with Greg Jackson, and claims he’s verbally agreed to fight “at UFC 197.”
In a recent episode of the Anik and Florian podcast, Penn revealed that he is preparing to step into the octagon in March, but says he isn’t allowed to disclose the name of his opponent. As previously noted, what was going to be called “UFC 197” on March 5th has been renamed to “UFC 196.” It appears Penn is referring that March 5th show, as his comments were made before the name change on Wednesday.
