Blachowicz Politely Tells Teixeira He’s Going To Get KO’D Into Retirement

Jan Blachowicz is informing UFC 267 opponent Glover Teixeira in the politest way possible that his career is about to come to a violent end.

At UFC 267 in Abu Dhabi, UFC light heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz will put his title on the line for the second time when he defends against grizzled veteran Glover Teixeira. Teixeira will have turned 42 years old two days prior to this event, and a victory over Blachowicz would make him the second oldest UFC champion in history.

This would be a remarkable and inspirational story for all to behold, especially considering that Teixeira was written off long ago and cast aside as an aging gatekeeper before proving otherwise with five straight wins.

There’s just one problem according to Blachowicz. This fairy-tale ending is just that: a fairy tale that will conclude with the central figure and his career getting knocked out into a sudden fade out.

“It’s a pleasure for me that I would be his last fight in his life with me,” Blachowicz said in an appearance on Submission Radio. “So, I do the best fight I can do to give it to him. But sorry, Glover, I have to knock you out. It’s not my problem.”

Obviously, Teixeira isn’t going to just stand by like a docile creature waiting to be put out of his misery, but Blachowicz believes he already knows how the Brazilian will fight back. Nevertheless, the champ thinks it will all be in vain.

“It’s not a secret. I think he will try to take me down and control me on the ground, finish fight on the ground,” Blachowicz predicted. “And my gameplan will be to keep fighting, stand up and try to knock him out. And I will try to do this. Watch out for his boxing skills. But if he takes me down, I will try to stand up. But also my jiu-jitsu is really good.

“So, I will not panic. If I get a chance to submit him, I will try to do this, because my jiu-Jjtsu is really good. But either way, I will try to keep fighting in the stand-up and try to find a way to knock him out.”

Do you believe Jan Blachowicz will send Glover Teixeira into retirement at UFC 267 with a knockout?
