On Tuesday, the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) issued a temporary suspension to Brock Lesnar as a result of the two failed drug tests he had for his UFC 200 comeback fight last month.
Lesnar tested positive for banned substances in an out-of-competition drug test prior to his fight with Mark Hunt, and again tested positive in a test administered the day of his fight.
The former UFC Heavyweight Champion, who has since returned to his original job with WWE, is expected to receive a formal NAC hearing in the future to address the failed tests.
Lesnar is facing a two-year suspension from not only the state of Nevada via the NAC, but also from USADA, the agency that overseas the UFC’s Anti-Doping program.
Despite the issues standing in the way of the WWE/UFC crossover star, Lesnar told TMZ Sports over the weekend that fans still may see him back in the Octagon one day.
“To my fans that watch me in the octagon, I thank them for their support,” Lesnar told TMZ Sports at a recent media event. “This has been a bumpy road. I’m gonna get through this alright. And there will be a day, maybe, that they’ll see me back in the octagon.”
