UPDATE: UFC has confirmed that Chad Mendes and Frankie Edgar will be battling each other in the TUF 22 Finale main event on December 11.
It looks like the two best UFC Featherweight contenders in the world not named Jose Aldo or Conor McGregor will be meeting inside the Octagon at The Ultimate Fighter 22 Finale.
According to multiple sources, both Chad Mendes (17-3) and Frankie Edgar (19-4-1) have verbally agreed to fight each other at the TUF 22 Finale in December.
While nothing is official, if the fight does happen, it’s safe to say that the winner between Mendes and Edgar, particularly if Edgar wins, will probably be fighting the winner of the Aldo vs. McGregor title unification bout at UFC 194 on December 12th for the next 145-pound title shot.
The Ultimate Fighter 22 Finale is scheduled for Friday, December 11, 2015 in Las Vegas, Nevada, airing live on FOX Sports 1.
