It looks like the “American Gangster” from West Linn, Oregon might be making a return to the Octagon.
Although Sonnen announced his retirement in late 2014 after being hit with a two-year disciplinary suspension from the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC), the former UFC title contender looks to be preparing for a return to the cage.
Sonnen’s manager told veteran MMA journalist Ariel Helwani, via UFC Tonight, that MMA has not seen the last of Chael Sonnen.
When Sonnen will return and who he will fight is still a question mark, however according to his manager, he will be fighting again one day despite hanging up the gloves nearly a year ago.
