During a media session in Dallas, Texas on Friday, former WWE performer turned UFC signee CM Punk explained why he feels MMA is “the easiest job in the world.”
“From my point of view, I have the easiest job in the world,” said Punk to MMAJunkie.com. “I just have to train every day and bust my ass every day. … Literally it’s the easiest job in the world to me. All I have to do is work really, really, really, really hard. It’s easy to me. I’m not afraid of hard work.”
“Obviously, if I’m rolling with Anthony, it’s a little bit frustrating because he’s teaching me the entire time; he’s like talking, having a casual conversation, and I’m just trying to hold him down,” Punk said with a laugh. “I don’t think anybody is taking it easy on me. Nobody is trying to take advantage of me. But that’s why I like it. Everybody is super nice, but they’re also not taking it easy on me, and I appreciate that.”
Punk continued, “I think that was just basically their way to see if I was nervous or scared or whatever, but for me, it was just another day at the office. Everybody was hootin’ and hollerin’. I heard someone yell, ‘Kick his ass!’ Kick my ass, that is.”
“I probably want to fight sooner than Duke [Roufus] and the rest of the coaches want me to,” said Punk. “But that’s just because I want to fight. It’s just something that … looks so goddamn fun.”
