Last night, Paul Heyman, the mentor of both Brock Lesnar and CM Punk, had the pleasure of celebrating his daughter’s bat mitzvah, and he invited some of his closest friends, including former wrestlers. CM Punk was one of them, and he popped up in some photos posted to Instagram by Madusa (best known to some fans as WWE Hall of Famer Alundra Blayze) with her and Heyman.
To get an idea of just how much Punk and Madusa mean to the Heyman family, take a look at the upper-right photo in the above Instagram image: They’re lighting candles with the bat mitzvah girl herself, and that’s something usually reserved for family members. Heyman and Madusa worked together closely in WCW in the early ’90s, while Punk befriended Heyman when he ran creative for WWE farm system Ohio Valley Wrestling.
Punk recently resumed his mixed martial arts training after recovering from a shoulder injury. There’s no official timetable as of yet for his UFC debut.
