Conor McGregor’s Manager Says They Are “Willing To Entertain Offer From WWE”

It looks like there might be something to this Conor McGregor story.

During his appearance on ESPN’s “5ive Rounds’ podcast on Tuesday, Audie Atlar, manager of the reigning two-division UFC World Champion who might be the most colorful character in the sports entertainment bracket since the days of “Stone Cold” Steve Austin and The Rock, spoke about the possibility of “The Notorious” Irishman working for WWE in the future.

“I think it’s all about business, man,” Atlar said during his appearance on the ESPN program. “If [WWE] is going to come with an offer, we are willing to entertain it. We are here. Have their people call his people — which is me. We can have a conversation.”

Regarding Triple H being in attendance at Madison Square Garden and after the fight expressing his interest in using McGregor’s talents in WWE in some form or fashion, referencing their use of Floyd Mayweather, who defeated a 7-foot, 500-pound wrestler in one of the featured matches at their biggest event of the year at WrestleMania 24 event back in 2008.

“McGregor could come over, he’s got it all, man,” said Paul “Triple H” Levesque during a recent interview with The Telegraph publication out of the U.K. “He’s got the personality, the skills, the talk. He’s an entertainer, for sure.”

Atlar mentioned during his “5ive Rounds” appearance this week that he appreciated the kind words from the former top WWE Superstar turned top WWE Executive.

“I think it’s phenomenal that a guy like Triple H was at the fights,” Attar said of “The Game” attending McGregor’s historic fight against Eddie Alvarez at the UFC’s first-ever event in the state of New York, UFC 205, held at a venue WWE has had locked down for years — Madison Square Garden. “I heard he said some positive things, which is always good to hear,” Atlar added.

Regarding McGregor appearing, or even wrestling a match for WWE, as top UFC star Ronda Rousey famously did with Hollywood big-shot and People Magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive” for 2016, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, back at WrestleMania 31 in 2015, Atlar referenced his client when essentially saying it will come down to a situation where the money will determine McGregor’s level of interest.

“Again, I think ultimately Conor will say, ‘Let me talk to my friend Benjamin [Franklin] to see how many of his friends he’s bringing with him before we talk about what the obligations are.”

Conor McGregor is currently in the midst of a hiatus from the fight game to be with his better half, Dee Devlin, as the two are expecting the birth of their first child together in May of 2017, so he’ll certainly have plenty of time to fit in a few extra phone calls, as long as the dollars make sense.
