Conor McGregor Opens As Betting Favorite In Potential Rafael Dos Anjos Fight

Although Las Vegas odds makers were heavily criticized for making Conor McGregor a betting favorite over an at-the-time ten-year unbeaten Jose Aldo going into UFC 194, they are already receiving heat from many in the MMA community for their opening lines on a potential McGregor vs. Rafael dos Anjos champion vs. champion bout.

Opening odds for a potential champion versus champion bout between UFC’s 145-pound champion McGregor and 155-pound champion Dos Anjos at such online websites as 5Dimes and SportsBet have “The Notorious” one an early betting favorite.

The aforementioned online gambling websites have McGregor listed at -160 to +130 for Dos Anjos, meaning a $160 bet on McGregor will earn you $100 profit if he wins, while a $100 bet on Dos Anjos will earn you $130 if Dos Anjos wins.

McGregor is coming off of an impressive 13-second knockout of Aldo at UFC 194, while Dos Anjos is fresh off a first-round TKO of Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone at Saturday’s UFC On FOX 17 event.

McGregor has talked about potentially moving up to 155 pounds and immediately challenging for the UFC Lightweight title while maintaining his status as the champion of the Featherweight division simaltaneously. It remains to be seen if things actually play out that way.
