During a recent interview, UFC Featherweight title contender Conor McGregor made a wild prediction about how his UFC 189 title fight against Jose Aldo will perform on pay-per-view.
McGregor, after initially predicting that their July 11th fight would break the one-million buy mark on pay-per-view, now claims it will compete with the upcoming boxing mega-fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao.
From BleacherReport.com.
“I think we’re going to compete with Mayweather and Pacquiao,” McGregor said.
One journalist asked McGregor if he expected his Aldo fight to do 4 million pay-per-view buys.
“We will see. Is that what you estimate Mayweather and Pacquiao to be?,” McGregor asked. The reporter said his personal estimate was 3.5 million.
“Three and a half? I don’t think so,” McGregor replied. “I am not interested in that fight as much as this one.”
Okay, so “The Notorious” Conor McGregor is a little crazier than we thought.
UFC 189: Aldo vs. McGregor takes place on Saturday, July 11th in Las Vegas, Nevada, airing live on pay-per-view.
