Conor McGregor Says Battle With UFC Over Media Obligations Isn’t Over Yet

While Conor McGregor is back on the UFC calendar, as he is scheduled to rematch Nate Diaz at 170-pounds at the UFC 202 pay-per-view in August, it appears his battle with the UFC over the amount of media obligations he has is still ongoing.

As noted, McGregor appeared at an event over the weekend to help promote his SBG Ireland head coach John Kavanagh’s new book, “Win or Learn.” While at the event, McGregor revealed where things stand between himself and fthe UFC in terms of the battle of over media responsibilities.

“We’re still back and forth with media obligations. It’s going on right to this second. It’s never-ending. They want to pull you left and right.”

McGregor would elaborate, explaining that fans might not realize just how much the amount of media he does takes away from his actual fight preparation.

“I think some people don’t understand how taxing that is, especially coming after a loss like that where I really truly need to look out for me and get myself right and come out the way I need to feel,” McGregor said. “I can’t fatigue like that and live with myself after that. Seeing the way the last fight happened, I can’t live with it. I need to isolate myself and just get my work in and come back and get my revenge. And that’s what I’m doing.”

UFC 202 featuring Conor McGregor vs. Nate Diaz 2 is scheduled for Saturday, August 20, 2016 at the brand new T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
